titleOfInvention | COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING STATES OF DISTURBED BARRIER FUNCTION OF SKIN |
abstract | 1. A method of treating a dermatological disorder in a subject in need thereof, comprising: applying to the subject a composition comprising a) a reactive reinforcing component and b) a crosslinking component, said crosslinking component facilitating in situ crosslinking of the reactive reinforcing component so that a film forms on the skin, thereby healing dermatological disease. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the dermatological disorder is simple chronic lichen, lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, eczema, chronically dry skin, xeroderma, redheads and ichthyosis, or an ulcer, or any combination thereof. A method according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the film is used in combination with one or more additional therapeutic agents. The method of claim 3, wherein the additional therapeutic agent is a moisturizer, mineral oil, liquid paraffin, tar, anthralin, corticosteroids, fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues, retinoids, phototherapy, methotrexate, cyclosporine, monoclonal antibody, pimecrolimus, tacrolimus, azathioprine, azathioprine , salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics or alpha hydroxy acids. 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the film has the appearance of natural skin. A method according to claim 1, wherein the reactive reinforcing component has a viscosity of from about 50,000 to 500,000 cSt or cP at 25 ° C. The method of claim 1, wherein the reactive reinforcing component is characterized by a ratio of vinyl groups to hydride functional groups of from about 1:10 to about 1: 100.8. The method of claim 1, wherein said reactive reinforcing component comprises a reaction |
