abstract 1. A milk-based food composition comprising: (i) a source of fat; (ii) a source of carbohydrates; (iii) a source of protein; (iv) a source of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid containing docosahexaenoic acid; (v) at least one prebiotic ; (vi) choline; and (vii) a phyto-supplement source containing at least one flavan-3-ol, where the flavan-3-ol is selected from the group consisting of at least one apple extract, at least one grape seed extract, and mixtures thereof. 2. The milk-based food composition of claim 1, wherein the food composition is in powder form, and further, wherein the food composition has a particle size that is in the range of from about 5 μm to about 1500 μm. The milk-based food composition of claim 2, wherein the food composition has a particle size that is more preferably in the range of 10 μm to 300 μm. A milk-based food composition according to claim 1, wherein at least one prebiotic is selected from the group consisting of galactooligosaccharide, polydextrose, and a mixture thereof. A milk based food composition according to claim 1, further comprising a source of β-glucan. 6. The milk-based food composition of claim 1, wherein the source of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids further comprises arachidonic acid. A milk-based food composition according to claim 1, further comprising at least one probiotic. The milk-based food composition of claim 7, wherein the at least one probiotic contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. 9. A milk based food composition according to claim 1, further comprising an iron source. The milk-based food composition of claim 9, wherein
