titleOfInvention COMPLEX CELLULOSE ETHERS CONTAINING MIXTURED PHASE TITANIUM DIOXIDE PARTICLES FOR IMPROVED DECOMPOSITION
abstract 1. An article comprising a cellulose ester containing mixed phase titanium dioxide particles introduced into or onto it, in which the cellulose ester is in the form of a cellulose ester fiber, and in which the mixed phase titanium dioxide particles comprise an anatase phase present in an amount of 50 to 98%, and the rutile phase, present in an amount of from 2 to 50%, as determined in each case by x-ray crystallography. 2. The product according to claim 1, where the product is in the form of a filter obtained by a method comprising applying a plasticizer containing dispersed particles of mixed phase titanium dioxide to fibers from cellulose ester to obtain fibers from plasticized cellulose ester; and then forming the fibers from the plasticized cellulose ester as a filter. 3. The product according to claim 2, in which the plasticizer contains one or more of the following: triacetin (glycerol triacetate), diethylene glycol diacetate, triethylene glycol diacetate, methylphthalethyl ethyl glycolate, dibutyl phthalate, tripropionine, acetyl triethyl citrate, triethyl ethyl triethyl acetate. The product according to claim 1, in which the product is in the form of a thread. The product of claim 1, wherein the product is in the form of a fabric. The product according to claim 1, wherein the particles of mixed phase titanium dioxide have a surface area of from about 10 to about 300 m / g. The product according to claim 1, in which the particles of mixed phase titanium dioxide have an average particle size of from 1 nm to 100 nm. The product according to claim 1, in which the particles of mixed-phase titanium dioxide have an average particle size of from 5 nm to 50 nm. Ed
