titleOfInvention BINDING COMPOSITION FOR USE IN CELLULAR COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND METHODS RELATING TO THIS
abstract 1. A mixed material comprising (i) a binder composition comprising an isocyanate compound, a metal catalyst and an acid compound, wherein the acid compound is present in the binder composition in an amount in which the acidity of the isocyanate compound is in the range of 800 ppm (ppm) to 10,000 ppm in terms of HCl; and (ii) lignocellulosic material. 2. The mixed material according to claim 1, where the metal catalyst is present in the composition in an amount ranging from 125 ppm to 1250 ppm based on the total weight of the binder composition. The mixed material according to claim 1, wherein the metal catalyst comprises an organometallic compound that contains a transition metal, an organotin compound, an organobismuth compound, or combinations thereof. The mixed material according to claim 3, where the transition metal includes a metal of group VIIIB.5. The mixed material according to claim 1, wherein the metal catalyst comprises iron (III) acetylacetonate, cobalt acetylacetonate, nickel acetylacetonate, dibutyltin dilaurate, dibutyltin mercaptide, bismuth tris (2-ethylhexoate), or combinations thereof. The mixed material according to claim 1, wherein the acidic compound comprises gaseous hydrogen chloride, isophthaloyl dichloride, terephthaloyl dichloride, benzoyl chloride, thionyl chloride, or combinations thereof. The mixed material according to claim 1, where the acidic compound is present in the binder composition in an amount in which the acidity of the isocyanate compound is in the range from 1200 ppm to 6000 ppm in terms of HCl. The mixed material according to claim 7, where the lignocellulosic material includes cellulosic chips, cellulosic flakes (flakes), cellulosic strands, or combinations thereof
