abstract | 1. A product for delivering nicotine through an oral cavity that contains an inside containing a powder) of at least one free nicotine salt, b) of at least one pH adjusting agent, c) of at least one excipient, and a water-insoluble sachet characterized in that said sachet is permeable to saliva and powder particles dissolved therein, wherein said product in contact with purified water gives a pH of at least 6.2. The product according to claim 1, characterized in that said nicotine salt is soluble in water. The product according to claim 1, characterized in that said nicotine salt is selected from the group consisting of nicotine hydrochloride, nicotine dihydrochloride, nicotine monotartrate, nicotine bitartrate, nicotine bitartrate dihydrate, nicotine sulfate, nicotine zinc chloride monohydrate, and nicotine salicylate, and their mixtures. 4. The product according to claim 3, characterized in that said nicotine salt is nicotine bitartrate dihydrate. The product according to claim 1, characterized in that said pH adjusting agent is selected from the group consisting of carbonates, including monocarbonate, bicarbonate and sesquicarbonate, acetates, glycinates, gluconates, borates, glycerophosphates or citrates of alkali metals or ammonium systems phosphates, including monohydrogen phosphate, dihydrogen phosphate and trihydrogen phosphate, metal hydroxides such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide, and mixtures thereof. 6. A product according to claim 5, characterized in that said pH-adjusting agent is sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate and mixtures thereof.
