titleOfInvention A NEW METHOD FOR AGOMELATIN SYNTHESIS
abstract 1. A method for industrial synthesis of a compound of formula (I): characterized in that the allyl cyanide of formula (II) is reacted with a compound of formula (III) in the presence of a free radical initiator: where Xa is a group —SC (S) —OR, in which R represents a linear or branched (CC) alkyl group to obtain a compound of formula (IV): in which Xa is as defined above, this latter compound can optionally be isolated before it undergoes a cyclization reaction in the presence of a free radical an initiator to obtain a compound of formula (V): a compound of formula (V), which can also be optionally isolated, before undergoing a reduction / dehydration reaction to obtain a compound of formula (VI): which is then subjected to aromatization to to obtain a compound of formula (VII): which is subjected to hydrogen reduction in the presence of Raney nickel in a polar proton medium and reaction with acetic anhydride to obtain a compound of formula (I) which is isolated as a solid. 2. A method for synthesizing a compound of formula (I) according to claim 1, characterized in that the compound of formula (VII) is then subjected to hydrogen reduction in the presence of Raney nickel in ammonia ethanol, then converted to a salt using hydrochloric acid to obtain a compound of formula (VIII) : which is subsequently exposed to sodium acetate and then acetic anhydride to give a compound of formula (I) which is isolated as a solid. 3. The method of synthesis of the compounds of formula (I) according to claim 1, characterized in that the compound of formula (VII) is reduced
