abstract 1. Radiation-curable coating compositions containing a methacrylate-functional compound and an adhesion-accelerating methacrylate compound. 2. The coating composition according to claim 1, wherein the adhesion promoting methacrylate compound comprises methacrylic functional monomer phosphate, methacrylic functional monomer carboxylate, methacrylic functional oligomer phosphate, methacrylic functional oligomer carboxylate, or a combination thereof. 3. The coating composition of claim 1, wherein the adhesion promoting methacrylate compound is present in an amount of from about 2 to about 40% by weight. The coating composition according to claim 1, wherein the methacrylate functional compound is present in an amount of from about 0.5 to about 45% by weight of the coating composition. The coating composition according to claim 1, wherein the methacrylate functional compound comprises a methacrylate-functional polyester, methacrylate-functional polyacrylate, methacrylate-functional polyester, methacrylate-functional polycarbonate, polyol oil ether, methacrylate-functional urea, or a combination thereof. The coating composition of claim 5, wherein the phosphate of the methacrylate-functional compound is a phosphate ester of methacrylic acid. The coating composition of claim 5, wherein the carboxylate of the methacrylic functional compound is a functional methacrylate-carboxylic acid ester, a functional methacrylate-carboxylic acid ether, or a combination thereof. The coating composition of claim 5, wherein the phosphate of the methacrylate functional compound is present in an amount up to about 12% by weight of the coating composition.
