abstract | 1. The method of producing 1,3-dimethyladamantane of the following formula (2) by carrying out the skeletal isomerization reaction of perhydroacenaphthene of the following formula (1) using from 0.5 to 1.5 parts by weight of catalysts. HF and from 0.05 to 0.5 parts by weight BF at 1 parts by weight perhydroacenaphthene, at a temperature of from 60 to 110 ° C: 2. The method for producing 1,3-dimethyladamantane according to claim 1, wherein HF and BF isolated from the reaction product solution are reused for the reaction. The method of producing 1,3-dimethyladamantane according to claim 2, wherein the catalyst layer separated from the solution of the reaction product by separation of two liquid phases is fed to a distillation column in which at least one hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of benzene, toluene is circulated, hexane and heptane, due to which BF and HF are regenerated and BF and HF are reused for the reaction. 4.
