titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING 2,3,3,3-TETRAFLUOROPROPENE
abstract 1. A method for producing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene comprising the following steps: (a) a catalytic reaction of 1,1,1,2,3-pentachloropropane and / or 1,1,2,2,3-pentachloropropane from HF to the product of 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene; (b) a catalytic reaction of the thus obtained 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene to 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein step (b) comprises: (i) contacting 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoro-1-propene (1233xf) with hydrogen fluoride HF in the gas phase in the presence of a fluorination catalyst under conditions sufficient to obtain a reaction mixture; (ii) separating the reaction mixture into a first stream containing HCl, 2,2,2,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf), and a second stream containing HF and unreacted 2-chloro-3, 3,3-trifluoro-1-propene (1233xf) and 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoropropane (245cb); (iii) recycle at least a portion of the second stream at least partially to the stage ( i) .3. The method of claim 2, wherein the first stream is further separated into HCl and 2,2,2,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf), preferably in a distillation step. The method of claim 1, wherein step (b) comprises: (i) contacting 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoro-1-propene (1233xf) with hydrogen fluoride HF in the gas phase in the presence of a fluorination catalyst under conditions sufficient to obtain a reaction mixture; (ii) separating the reaction mixture into HCl and a fluorinated product stream; (iii) separating said fluorinated product stream into a first stream containing 2,2,2,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf ), and to a second stream containing HF and unreacted 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoro-1-propene (1233xf) and 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluorop ropan (245cb); (iv) recycling at least a portion of the second stream at least partially to stage (i) .5.
