abstract 1. Soft chewing gum, which includes: (a) a pharmaceutically effective amount of at least one active ingredient; (b) a flavoring agent; (c) a disintegrating agent; (d) a moisturizing agent; (e) a binding agent; (f) an antioxidant; (g) optionally, a preservative; and (h) water. 2. Soft chewing gum according to claim 1, comprising (g) a preservative. 3. Soft chewing gum according to claim 1 or 2, where the soft chewing gum is decomposed in less than about 25 minutes, as determined in accordance with method 2.9.1 (Analysis B) of the European Pharmacopoeia 6.0.4. Soft chewing gum according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the disintegrant is at least about 10% by weight, at least about 12% by weight, at least about 15% by weight, at least about 17 wt.%, at least about 20 wt.%, at least about 25 wt.%, at least about 30 wt.%, at least about 40 wt.%, or at least , approximately 50% by weight of soft gum. 5. Soft chewing gum according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the disintegrating agent is selected from the group consisting of calcium carmellose, directly compressible mannitol, cross-linked povidone, crosscarmellose sodium, a mixture of direct compressible mannitol and crosscarmellose sodium, and a combination thereof. 6. Soft chewing gum according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the disintegrant is selected from the group consisting of a mixture of crosscarmellose sodium and directly compressible mannitol, a mixture of croscarmellose sodium and a grafted polyvinylcaprolactam-polyvinyl acetate-polyethylene glycol copolymer, a mixture of croscarmellose perevolume
