titleOfInvention METHOD FOR CLEANING IRRADIATED BERILLIUM FROM RADIOACTIVE IMPURITIES
abstract 1. A method of purifying irradiated beryllium from radioactive impurities, characterized in that tritium is removed, then beryllium is dissolved in acid, a complexing agent is added, then an ammonia solution is added until a beryllium hydroxide precipitate is formed, the amorphous form of the beryllium hydroxide precipitate is transformed into crystalline alpha or beta form, separate and wash the precipitate. 2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that for the formation of beryllium hydroxide using an aqueous solution of ammonia, which is added to a pH of 7.3. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the complexing agent is added diethylene triamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) or ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) with a concentration of up to 0.02 mol per 1 mol of irradiated beryllium. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the conversion of beryllium hydroxide into crystalline form is carried out in an ammonia solution by holding for more than 6 months or by boiling the solution for ≈24 hours
