A synergistic mixture designed to combat the growth of fungi or algae, including copper and a hydrazone compound of the formula I: where R is H or C-C 1-6 alkyl; R is a substituted or unsubstituted 5- or 6-membered aromatic, saturated or partially saturated heterocycle consisting of carbon atoms and at least one other atom selected from O, N or S, which optionally can be fused to a second substituted or unsubstituted 5- or 6-membered aromatic, saturated or partially saturated th cycle consisting of carbon atoms, or composed of carbon atoms and one or more other atoms selected from O, N or S; Hoboznachaet H, halogen or C-alkenyl; Hoboznachaet H; Xoboznachaet H or halogen; Xoboznachaet H; and provided that Xi and Khmogut can form a 6-membered condensed aromatic cycle consisting of carbon and hydrogen atoms. 2. The use of a synergistic mixture according to claim 1 for controlling the growth of fungal plant pathogens. The use of a synergistic mixture according to claim 1 for controlling the growth of fungal pathogens in mammals. The use of a synergistic mixture according to claim 1 for controlling the growth of fungi on inert substrates selected from the group which mainly includes wood, metal and plastic.
