abstract 1. A method of extracting from mineral raw materials, that is, ore, residual rock or a mixture thereof, a mass of iron and at least one more metal selected from the following: iron, aluminum, titanium, sodium, calcium and silicon, where the method includes the following steps: grinding mineral raw materials to a particle size of 5-500 microns to obtain a powdery material; combining the above powdery material with carbonaceous raw materials to obtain a mixture with a ratio of powdery material and carbonaceous raw materials of about 88: 12 to 95: 5; pressing the resulting mixture into a shape selected from the following: pellets, blocks and briquettes, to obtain a molded material; melting, at least partially, of metal and slag in said molded material to separate masses of iron together with a slag containing a mass of at least one more metal from the following: aluminum, titanium, calcium, sodium and silicon; and separation of iron masses from slag. 2. The method according to claim 1, including the step of selecting said carbonaceous raw material from the following group: wood, charcoal, coke, semi-coke, coal, biomass, carbonized product, fuel oil and natural gas. The method according to claim 1, which includes the use of a carbonized product obtained as a result of coal pyrolysis as a carbonaceous feedstock. The method of claim 1, comprising the step of melting said shaped material in a shaft furnace by combustion with air, preferably enriched air, preferably oxygen, at a temperature in the range 1200-1800 ° C, preferably in the range 1400-1500 ° C.
