abstract | 1. A method of treating a pancreatic cancer in an individual in need of such treatment, comprising administering to said individual an effective amount of a composition containing nanoparticles including taxane and albumin, while said individual is showing progress with gemcitabine therapy. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said progress is observed over a period of less than about 12 months. The method of claim 1, wherein said gemcitabine-based therapy further includes erlotinib. The method of claim 1, wherein said gemcitabine-based therapy is monotherapy. The method of claim 1, wherein the pancreatic cancer is an exocrine pancreatic cancer or an endocrine pancreatic cancer. The method of claim 5, wherein said exocrine pancreatic cancer is a pancreatic duct carcinoma. The method of claim 1, wherein the pancreatic cancer is a locally progressive pancreatic cancer, an inoperable pancreatic cancer, or a metastatic pancreatic duct carcinoma.
