titleOfInvention | DISPERSIONS OF POLYETHYLENE WAX IN POLYMER COATINGS |
abstract | 1. An aqueous lacquer composition comprising at least one aqueous base coat and at least one aqueous dispersion of at least one at least partially neutralized wax based on an ethylene copolymer selected from the group consisting of waxes based on gradient or random ethylene copolymers which contain units of the following comonomers: (A) from 12 to 40 wt.%, preferably from 20 to 35 wt.%, of units of at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid of the general formula I: in which R and R are independently other means hydrogen or straight or branched alkyl with 1-10 carbon atoms, (B) from 60 to 88 wt.%, preferably from 80 to 65 wt.% of ethylene units, and (C) from 0 to 10 wt.%, preferably from 0 to 5 wt.% units of at least one other comonomer, or (A ′) from 5 to 50 wt.%, preferably from 20 to 40 wt.% units of at least one comonomer of the general formula II: in which R and R independently are hydrogen or unbranched or branched alkyl with 1-10 carbon atoms, R independently are hydrogen, unbranched and whether branched alkyl with 1-10 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl with 3-12 carbon atoms, and the two residues R can be connected to each other, forming a ring with a number of members from 3 to 10, X means oxygen, sulfur or NR, R means hydrogen or unbranched or branched alkyl with 1-10 carbon atoms, and A is a divalent residue selected from the group consisting of alkylene with 1-10 carbon atoms, cycloalkylene with 4-10 carbon atoms and phenylene, (B ′) from 50 to 95 wt.%, preferably from 60 to 80 wt.% ethylene units, and (C) from 0 to 20 wt.%, preferably from 0 to 10 m |
