titleOfInvention | LIQUID FUEL COMPOSITIONS |
abstract | 1. A method of improving the performance of lubrication of an internal combustion engine, which includes refueling an internal combustion engine containing engine lubricant with a liquid fuel composition comprising: a base fuel suitable for use in an internal combustion engine; and one or more derivatives of poly (hydroxycarboxylic acid) having a terminal amine group and described by formula (III): wherein Y represents hydrogen or optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group, A represents a divalent optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group, n is in the range from 1 to 100, m is 1 or 2, Z is an optionally substituted divalent bridging group, p is in the range from 0 to 10, and X is a terminal amine group or a group having the terminal amine group, where the terminal amine group is selected from —NR, where R is independently selected from hydrogen and a C-hydroxycarbyl group. 2. The method according to claim 1, in which the amount of one or more derivatives of poly (hydroxycarboxylic acid) having a terminal amine group and present in the liquid fuel composition is at least 1 ppm (mass.) Based on the total weight of the composition liquid fuel. 3. The method according to claim 2, in which the amount of one or more derivatives of poly (hydroxycarboxylic acid) having a terminal amine group and present in the liquid fuel composition is in the range from 10 ppm (wt.) To 20% (wt.) based on the total weight of the liquid fuel composition. 4. The method according to claim 1, where X is a group described by the formula -Z-X, where Zpr |
