| abstract | 1. A floor or wall covering that does not contain PVC (polyvinyl chloride) containing at least one layer of a thermoplastic composition, while said composition includes: - a polymer matrix containing at least two polymers, while said matrix contains at least 5 parts at least one polymer with acid anhydride groups; wherein the total amount of polymers to be combined is up to 100 parts, and at least 100 parts of at least one filler per 100 parts of polymer. A PVC-free floor or wall covering according to claim 1, wherein the acid anhydride groups of at least one acid anhydride polymer are grafted onto the olefin polymer. A PVC-free floor or wall covering according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the at least one acid anhydride polymer is an ethylene-acrylic ester-acid anhydride terpolymer. A PVC-free floor or wall covering according to claim 1, wherein at least one filler is present in an amount of 100-500 parts per 100 parts of polymer.
