titleOfInvention METHOD FOR TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF ACUTE ERYTHEMA
abstract 1. A method of treating acute erythema in a person in need thereof, comprising the topical use of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising an effective amount of an alpha adrenergic receptor agonist or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof locally in the acute erythema region of a person. The method according to claim 1, in which acute erythema is a skin condition that occurs suddenly, is unstable and manifests itself in the form of temporary reddening of the skin. The method according to claim 2, in which acute erythema is caused by sunburn, frostbite, hot burns, insect bites, physical procedures, chemical procedures, or a combination thereof. The method according to claim 3, wherein the acute erythema is caused by physical procedures selected from the group consisting of laser radiation therapy, ultraviolet radiation therapy, radiofrequency therapy, radiation therapy, light emitting diode therapy, and microdermabrasion therapy. The method according to claim 3, in which acute erythema is caused by chemical procedures selected from the group consisting of chemical skin exfoliation therapy, drug therapy, and the use of cosmetic products. The method of claim 5, wherein the chemical procedure comprises the use of a retinoid. The method according to claim 3, in which acute erythema is caused by physical and chemical procedures selected from the group consisting of tanning procedures, phototherapy, and combinations thereof. The method of claim 1, wherein the alpha adrenergic receptor agonist is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The method of claim 8, wherein the alpha adrenergic receptor agonist is
