titleOfInvention | CONSTRUCTED ZIN-FINGERED PROTEINS AIMED AT PLANT GENES INVOLVED IN FATTY ACID BIOSYNTHESIS |
abstract | 1. An unnatural zinc-finger protein that modulates the expression of at least one endogenous plant gene, where at least one plant gene is involved in fatty acid biosynthesis and is selected from the group consisting of β-ketoacyl-ACP synthetase (KAS) gene fatty acid thioesterase B (FatB), fatty acid synthase gene (FAS), fatty acid elongase gene, fatty acid thioesterase A (FatA) gene, G-3-P-dehydrogenase plastid gene (GPDH), glycerokinase (GK) gene, gene desaturases of the stearoylacil carrier protein (S-ACP-DES) and the oleoyl-ACP hydrolase gene. 2. A fusion protein containing zinc finger protein according to claim 1 and a functional domain. The fusion protein of claim 2, wherein the functional domain is a transcriptional regulation domain or a cleavage domain. A protein with zinc fingers or a fusion protein according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the plant gene is contained in the plant. The zinc finger protein according to claim 4, wherein the zinc finger protein binds to the target site, as shown in Table 2 or Table 10A.6. The zinc finger protein according to claim 4, wherein the zinc finger protein comprises regions of recognition helices shown in the rows of Table 1 or Table 10B.7. A polynucleotide encoding one or more zinc finger proteins or fusion proteins according to any one of claims 1 to 6.8. A method for modifying one or more genes involved in biosynthesis of fatty acids in a plant cell, the method comprising: introducing into the plant cell one or more expression vectors containing at least one polynucleotide according to claim 7, under such conditions that one or more proteins with zinc fingers, and one or more |
