titleOfInvention BONE CEMENT CONTAINING BONE MARROW
abstract 1. A cement configured to be introduced into the target area and subsequently cured, comprising: a monomer, a polymerization initiator; and a sufficient amount of bone marrow for the cement to have a mechanical characteristic that is substantially similar to the mechanical characteristic of the target area. 2. A cement according to claim 1, further comprising styrene incorporated into the polymer backbone. A cement according to claim 1, having a yield strength of about 5 to about 60 MPa when the bone cement is cured. The cement of claim 3, wherein the yield strength is from about 20 to about 50 MPa when the bone cement is cured. A cement according to claim 1 having a Young's modulus of 100 to 1000 MPa when the bone cement is cured. A cement according to claim 5 having a Young's modulus of about 200 to about 500 MPa when the bone cement is cured. The cement according to claim 1, wherein the bone marrow comprises 10 to 60% of the volume of the cement. A cement according to claim 1, wherein the substantially matched mechanical property is Young's modulus. A cement according to claim 1, wherein the substantially selected mechanical property is yield strength. Bone cement configured to be introduced into the target bone and subsequently cured, comprising: an amount of methyl methacrylate monomer; a polymerization initiator configured to polymerize the monomer; Sufficient bone marrow to provide a mechanical performance of the bone cement that is substantially similar to that of the target bone. Bone cement according to claim 10, further comprising an activator, which is
