titleOfInvention IMPROVED METHOD FOR CONDITIONING ANIMAL FEED
abstract 1. A method of manufacturing a granular animal feed, comprising the steps of preparing an initial composition comprising a) 10-90 weight. % organic acid selected from the group consisting of acetic, propionic, butyric and mixtures thereof, b) 1-90 weight. % of a surfactant based on ethoxylated castor oil having an HLB of 4 to 18 and a molar ratio of 1 molecule of castor oil per 1-200 molecules of ethylene oxide, c) 0-20 weight. % antimicrobial terpenes or essential oils; add water to formulate a heat treatment composition and add an effective amount of the heat treatment composition to an animal feed with sufficient heat to granulate or extrude the food. 2. The method according to claim 1, where the specified composition for heat treatment is introduced into animal feed in the form of 5-20 weight. % of the mixture in water. 3. The method according to claim 1, where the composition for heat treatment is introduced into animal feed in an amount of from 0.25 to 10 weight. % based on feed weight. 4. The method according to claim 1, where component a) is 20-70 weight. %, component b) is 0.5-20 weight. %, component c) is 0.1-5 weight. % based on the weight of the specified source composition. 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the energy consumption is improved by at least 15% compared with a control sample treated with water. The method according to claim 1, wherein the moisture content of the granules is improved by at least 0.4% compared with a control sample treated with water. The method according to claim 1, wherein the percentage of fine particles is improved by at least 10% compared with a control sample treated with water. The method according to claim 1, where the processed feed has a bacterial load of less than 10,000 CFU / g. The method according to claim 1, where the processed feed has mold
