abstract | 1. The compound of formula I: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein O is hydroxyl oxygen in unbound opioid molecules, A is oxygen or sulfur, in each case R is independently hydrogen, alkyl or substituted alkyl, R is C-C alkyl, an amino acid substituted with a phenyl group substituted by an alkyl group, tert-butyl, isopropyl, ethyl, methyl ,,, or; n is an integer from 1 to 9, in each case R is independently a side chain of a proteinogenic or non-proteinogenic amino acid, and the opioid is selected from the group consisting of butorphanol, buprenorphine, codeine, desocine, dihydrocodeine, hydromorphone, levorphanol, meptazinol, morphine, nalbuphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, pentazocine and their active metabolites. 2. The compound according to claim 1, characterized in that R is serine or threonine. The compound according to claim 1, characterized in that A is O, R is hydrogen, R is serine or threonine, and n = 1.4. The compound according to claim 1, characterized in that R denotes the amino acid side chain of valine. A compound according to claim 1, wherein the opioid is meptazinol, A is oxygen, R is hydrogen, R is a side chain or valine, n = 1, and R is serine. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound according to claim 5 and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. The compound according to claim 5, containing a dihydrochloride salt represented by the formula: 8. The compound represented by formula: 9. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 8 and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
