abstract | 1. A method of reducing or removing scale in an industrial process, comprising adding to the process a composition comprising a polymer reaction product of at least a polyamine, a first nitrogen reactive compound and a second nitrogen reactive compound, the polymer reaction product having a weight average molecular weight of at least about 500, wherein the first nitrogen reactive compound includes an —Si (OR ") group and a nitrogen reactive group where R "means H, optionally substituted C-C1-6alkyl, optionally substituted C-Saryl, optionally substituted C-Saralkyl, optionally substituted C-Salkenyl, a metal ion of group I, a metal ion of group II or NR, where each R is independently selected from H, optionally substituted C-C1-6alkyl, optionally substituted C-Saryl, optionally substituted C-Saralkyl, and optionally substituted C-Salkenyl; the second nitrogen reactive compound includes a nitrogen reactive group and does not contain a Si group (OR "); and at least one of the polyamine and the second nitrogen reactive compound includes an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical containing from about 2 to about 40 carbon atoms.
