abstract | 1. An article that is selected from a composite rotary cutting tool and a composite rotary cutting tool blank, the article including an elongated part that includes: a first section containing a first cemented carbide, and a second section autogenously bonded to the first section and containing a second cemented carbide, wherein at least one of the first cemented carbide and the second cemented carbide comprises a hybrid cemented carbide that contains: a dispersed phase of the cemented carbide; and a continuous phase of cemented carbide, and wherein at least one of the dispersed phase of cemented carbide and the continuous phase of cemented carbide contains at least 0.5 wt.% cubic carbide based on the weight of the phase including cubic carbide. 2. The composite article of claim 1, wherein at least one of the dispersed cemented carbide phase and the cemented carbide continuous phase contains at least 1.0 wt% cubic carbide based on the weight of the phase including cubic carbide. The composite article of claim 1, wherein the cubic carbide comprises at least one of titanium carbide, vanadium carbide, zirconium carbide, niobium carbide, hafnium carbide, and tantalum carbide. The composite article of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first portion and the second portion is substantially free of cubic carbide.
