titleOfInvention | Synergistic antimicrobial composition 1, 2-benzisothiazole-3-one and tris (hydroxymethyl) nitromethane |
abstract | 1. A synergistic antimicrobial composition comprising (a) 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and (b) tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane, in which the mass ratio of 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane is from 12:1 to 1:12.2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein the weight ratio is from 9:1 to 1:8, 2.3. A method for suppressing the growth of microorganisms in an aqueous medium, comprising adding to the aqueous medium (a) 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and (b) tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane, wherein the mass ratio of 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one and tris( hydroxymethyl)nitromethane is from 12:1 to 1:12.4. The method according to claim 3, wherein the aqueous medium comprises anaerobic bacteria and the weight ratio is from 12:1 to 1:7.5. The method according to claim 3, in which the aqueous medium contains aerobic bacteria, and the mass ratio is from 1:2 to 1:12.6. The method according to claim 4, wherein the weight ratio is from 9:1 to 1:3.7. Method according to claim 5, wherein the weight ratio is from 1:1 to 1:8.2. |
