abstract 1. A membrane comprising at least one positively charged, synthetic, hydrophobic polymer, at least one hydrophilic polymer and at least one plasticizer, characterized in that: said positively charged synthetic, hydrophobic polymer is an A NF type ammonium methacrylate copolymer (AMCA); said plasticizer is polyethylene glycol in the range of 300 to 20,000; said membrane is flexible and capable of supporting at least one of cell adhesion, cell proliferation or cell differentiation. The membrane according to any one of the preceding paragraphs, characterized in that both said hydrophilic polymer and said plasticizer are polyethylene glycol in the range from 300 to 20,000. The membrane according to any one of paragraphs 1, characterized in that both said hydrophilic polymer and said plasticizer are polyethylene glycol 400.4. The membrane according to any one of paragraphs 1-3, characterized in that said polyethylene glycol 400 is present in a concentration of 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 wt.%. 5. A membrane according to any one of paragraphs 1, characterized in that said at least one hydrophilic polymer is present in a concentration of from about 1 wt.% To 30 wt.% By weight of the membrane. A membrane according to claim 1, characterized in that said membrane further comprises at least one type of cell.
