titleOfInvention | TRANSFORMATION OF LIGNO CELLULAR BIOMASS |
abstract | 1. A method for producing monosaccharides, sugar-based chemicals, biofuels or materials together with sulfonated lignin from lignocellulosic biomass, the method comprising the steps of: (i) pretreating lignocellulosic biomass in a sulphite cooking step; (ii) separating the pretreated lignocellulosic biomass from the stage (i) on (a) a spent sulfite liquor liquid phase containing 50% or more lignin of lignocellulosic biomass in the form of sulfonated lignin, and (b) a pulp containing 70% sludge and more cellulose of lignocellulosic biomass; (iii) hydrolysis of pulp (b) from step (ii) to chemicals based on sugars containing monosaccharides; (iv) optionally additional processing of monosaccharides of step (iii) to obtain acceptable chemicals, biofuels and / or proteins; and (v) direct conversion or further treatment of the sulfonated lignin of the liquid phase (a) from step (ii) to acceptable chemicals and / or materials. 2. The method according to claim 1, where the monosaccharides contain hexoses and pentoses. The method of claim 2, wherein the hexoses and pentoses contain xylose and glucose. The method according to claim 1, where the lignocellulosic biomass contains wood, annual plants, agricultural residues or waste, specifically bagasse or energy crops. The method according to claim 1, where the lignocellulosic biomass used in the method does not require mechanical (preliminary) processing, and / or where the sulfite cooking step (i) is the only chemical (preliminary) treatment before hydrolysis. The method of claim 1, wherein the organic portion of the SSL SSL liquid phase contains lignin in forms |
