abstract 1. A tin oxide electrode formed from a composition comprising: a main component consisting of tin oxide (SnO); and additives including CuO, ZnO, and resistivity modifying additives, where the total amount of CuO and ZnO is not more than about 0.4 wt%, and where the amount of ZnO is in the range from about 0.1 wt% to about 0 , 19 wt% 2. The tin oxide electrode according to claim 1, wherein the amount of ZnO is greater than the amount of CuO. The tin oxide electrode of claim 1, wherein the total amount of CuO and ZnO is not more than about 0.35 wt%. The tin oxide electrode of claim 1, wherein the additives contain no more than about 0.2 wt% CuO. The tin oxide electrode of claim 1, wherein the additives contain ZnO in the range of about 0.11 wt% to about 0.19 wt%. The tin oxide electrode according to claim 1, wherein the resistivity-modifying additives are selected from the group of materials including SbO, AsO, NbO, BiO, and TaO. The tin oxide electrode of claim 1, wherein the content of resistivity modifiers ranges from about 0.5 wt% to about 1.5 wt%. The tin oxide electrode of claim 1 further comprising ZrO of not more than about 4 wt%. A tin oxide electrode according to claim 1, which has a resistivity of not more than 0.1 ohm · cm at temperatures greater than about 100 ° C.
