titleOfInvention APPLICATION AS A THICKENER OF AQUEOUS SALT COMPOSITIONS OF A WATER-SOLUBLE ACRYLIC COPOLYMER, crosslinked and hydrophobically modified
abstract 1. The use as a thickener of an aqueous composition of a water-soluble or alkali-soluble copolymer, characterized in that it is formed from - expressed in mass percentage of each of its monomers:! a) 30-45% (meth) acrylic acid, which is preferably methacrylic acid,! b) 50-60% acrylamide and / or N-methylol and / or an acrylic ester selected from ethyl (meth) acrylates and butyl (meth) acrylates, and which is preferably ethyl acrylate,! c) 2-10% of a hydrophobic monomer of the formula R1- (R2O) m-R3, in which:! R1 is an unsaturated polymerizable functional group belonging to the group of vinyl, (meth) acrylic esters, unsaturated vinyl urethanes, allyl or vinyl ethers, and is preferably a methacrylic ester functional group! R2O represents an alkylene oxide group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, preferably an ethylene oxide and propylene oxide group, very preferably an ethylene oxide group! - m is an integer ranging from 20 to 50, preferably from 30 to 40,! - R3 denotes a linear alkyl chain containing at least 16 and at most 26 carbon atoms, preferably at least 18 and at most 22 carbon atoms,! d) 0.1-4% of at least one crosslinking agent, which is preferably ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) (EDMA),! the sum of the percentages a), b), c) and d) is equal to 100%. ! 2. The use according to claim 1, characterized in that said copolymer is completely or partially neutralized by at least one neutralizing agent selected from
