titleOfInvention METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROMOTING A PROBE
abstract 1. A device comprising:! an elongated flexible tube configured to be placed in the tract and having a proximal end and a distal end; ! a drive mechanism connected to the proximal end of the tube; as well as ! a column of fluid extending from the proximal end to the distal end; ! while the drive mechanism is configured to cause the liquid column to move in the tube to give the tube an impulse to move forward, and thereby promote the advancement of at least the distal end of the tube in the path when at least the distal end is placed within the tract portion. ! 2. The device according to claim 1, in which the tube has periodic form perturbations formed on the outer surface of the tube along at least a portion of the tube. ! 3. The device according to claim 2, in which periodic form perturbations continue around the circumference around the tube. ! 4. The device according to claim 2 or 3, in which periodic form perturbations are performed according to the proximally reversed herringbone pattern. ! 5. The device according to claim 4, in which the outer surface of the tube is configured to resist movement of the tube in the distal direction. ! 6. The device according to claim 1, in which the inner surface of the tube is configured to enhance resistance to movement of the liquid column through the tube in the forward direction. ! 7. The device according to claim 6, in which the inner surface contains internal periodic perturbations of the form along at least a section of the tube distal relative to the proximal end. ! 8. The device according to claim 6 or 7, in which the internal periodic form perturbations are performed according to the proximal inverted
