titleOfInvention | HYDROGEN HYDROGEN ABSORBERS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING HYDROGEN HYDROGEN FROM ASPHALT |
abstract | 1. A method of reducing the content of hydrogen sulfide in asphalt, comprising adding a composition of a hydrogen sulfide scavenger to the asphalt, the hydrogen sulfide scavenger comprising a polyaliphatic amine of formula 1:! ! where R is an aliphatic radical, and n is from 0 to about 15.! 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the aliphatic radical is a C1-C30 alkyl, a C2-C30 alkenyl, or a C1-C30 alkoxy group. ! 3. The method according to claim 1, in which the polyaliphatic amine is a polyalkyleneamine. ! 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the polyalkyleneamines are selected from the group consisting of ethylenediamine, diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetraamine, tetraethylenepentamine, propiletilendiamina, tetrabutilenpentamina, geksaetilengeptamina, geksapentilengeptamina, geptaetilenoktamina, oktaetilennonamina, nonaetilendekamina, dekaetilenundekamina, dekageksilenundekamina, undekaetilendodekamina, dodekaetilentridekamina, tridekaetilendodekamina, dodekaetilentriamina , tridecaethylenetetradecamine or N-tall propylene diamine. ! 5. The method according to claim 1, in which the composition of the absorber is added in an amount of from about 50 mass parts per million to about 3000 mass parts per million relative to the mass of asphalt. ! 6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the composition of the hydrogen sulfide scavenger further comprises a solvent. ! 7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the composition of the hydrogen sulfide scavenger further comprises a catalyst. ! 8. The method according to claim 7, in which the catalyst has the formula 2:! ! where each R1, R2, R3 and R4 independently represents an alkyl group containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group containing from 1 to 20 atom |
