abstract | 1. A nanoparticle consisting of a polymer, a metal chelating agent, coated with a magnetic metal oxide, in which at least one active substance is covalently bonded to the polymer, preferably wherein the size of said nanoparticle is less than 0.3 microns, more preferably less than 0 , 1 μm. ! 2. The nanoparticle according to claim 1, in which:! (I) said polymer has functional groups capable of binding metal ions selected from amino, hydroxyl, carboxylate, —SH, ether, imine, phosphate or sulfide groups, wherein said polymer is gelatin, polymethyleneimine, chitosan or polylysine, more preferably gelatin; ! (ii) said magnetic metal oxide is iron oxide or ferrite derived from iron oxide, preferably iron oxide, wherein said iron oxide is preferably selected from magnetite, oxymagnetite or a mixture thereof, and said ferrite is preferably an oxide of the formula (Fe, M) 3O4, in which M is a transition metal ion, preferably selected from Zn2 +, Co2 +, Mn2 + or Ni2 +; and! (iii) said at least one active substance is a fluorescent dye, contrast agent, peptide, peptidomimetic, polypeptide or small molecule. ! 3. The nanoparticle of claim 2, wherein said fluorescent dye is rhodamine or fluorescein; said peptide or peptidomimetic is a peptide or peptidomimetic containing cyclic RGD (cRGD), preferably a cRGD peptide from SEQ ID NO: 1, or a peptide or peptidomimetic containing acyclic RGD; the specified polypeptide is a cytokine, an enzyme, an antibody |
