abstract | 1. A pharmaceutical composition having a central and off-center layer, comprising:! (a) hydrocodone, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate thereof, and! (b) acetaminophen or ibuprofen, where at least 75% of the hydrocodone, its pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate is in the central part, where acetaminophen or ibuprofen is in the off-center layer and where the composition is adapted so that it is suitable for oral administration to humans 3, 2 or 1 times a day. ! 2. The composition according to claim 1, where more than 90% of hydrocodone, its pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate is located in the Central part. ! 3. The composition according to claim 1, where essentially all of the hydrocodone, its pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate is located in the central part. ! 4. The composition according to claim 1, where, in addition, the Central part further comprises acetaminophen. ! 5. The composition according to claim 1, where, in addition, the Central part further comprises acetaminophen or ibuprofen. ! 6. The composition according to any one of claims 1 or 5, where the central layer contains an excipient capable of controlling the release of the drug, and the off-center layer contains an excipient capable of immediately releasing the drug. ! 7. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, where the central layer is made by extrusion from a melt, followed by direct shaping of the drug-containing melt, and the off-center layer is spray applied to the central layer. ! 8.
