titleOfInvention PACKAGING WITH BIOCIDE PROPERTIES FOR COSMETIC PRODUCTS AND FOOD
abstract 1. Packaging with biocidal properties, effective for killing cells, containing at least one charged polymer, characterized in that said charged polymer under conditions of contact with an aqueous medium:! but. contains strongly acidic and / or strongly basic functional groups; ! b. has a pH less than about 4.5 or greater than about 8.0; ! from. has the ability to generate a surface electric potential inside the closed volume of the specified cell, sufficient to effectively disrupt the pH homeostasis and / or electrical balance within the specified closed volume of the specified cell; and! d. is in a form selected from the group consisting of (i) H + -form and (ii) OH -form; ! wherein said charged polymer is capable of maintaining the pH of the environment of said cells. ! 2. A package according to claim 1, further characterized in that when said functional groups are accessible to water, said package has a buffer capacity of about 20 to about 100 mmol H + / L · pH unit. ! 3. A package according to claim 1, further characterized in that when said functional groups are accessible to water, said package is characterized by at least one of the characteristics selected from the range including (a) sufficiently poor water solubility so that upon reaching a state of equilibrium, at least 99.9% of the mass remains undissolved; (b) a sufficiently high resistance to leaching such that the total concentration of material that is leached into said aqueous medium does not exceed 100 ppm; (c) a sufficiently large inertness such that at least one parameter of the aqueous medium selected from d
