titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING CHLORINE DIOXIDE
abstract 1. A method of producing chlorine dioxide, comprising forming chlorine dioxide in a reaction medium in at least one reaction vessel and discharging chlorine dioxide from said at least one reaction vessel, the method further comprising the step of treating the reaction medium or at least one process stream, emerging directly or indirectly from said at least one reaction vessel, with an adsorbent effective to remove chlorinated organic compounds from said necks least one process stream. ! 2. The method according to claim 1, further comprising passing at least one process stream through a mechanical filter until it contacts the adsorbent. ! 3. The method according to any one of claims 1, 2, where the chlorinated organic compounds include at least one chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin or dibenzofuran. ! 4. The method according to any one of claims 1, 2, where at least one processed process stream includes a gas containing chlorine dioxide discharged from the reaction vessel. ! 5. The method according to any one of claims 1, 2, where at least one processed process stream comprises an aqueous solution containing chlorine dioxide. ! 6. The method according to claim 5, where the aqueous solution containing chlorine dioxide is obtained by absorption of the gas discharged from the reaction vessel into water. ! 7. The method according to any one of claims 1, 2, where at least one processed process stream includes residual acid withdrawn from the reaction vessel. ! 8. The method according to any one of claims 1, 2, where at least one processed process stream includes a reaction medium from a reaction vessel. ! 9. Sp
