titleOfInvention COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING ABSORBING UV RADIATION POLYMER
abstract 1. UV absorbing polymer having the following chemical structure! ! where R1 represents a first side group that contains a UV absorbing triazole; R2 is a second side group, which includes: a) from 1 to about 50 siloxane bridges, b) a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon residue having from 7 to 16 carbon atoms, or c) a combination thereof, wherein R2 does not contain UV absorbing residues ; each R ′ independently is H or C1-C12 alkyl; n takes values from 1 to 6000; m takes values from 2 to 6300, wherein said UV absorbing polymer has a weight average molecular weight of at least about 2000 and contains at least about 5 mol% R1. ! 2. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 1, where R 'is methyl. ! 3. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 1, where n is from about 2 to about 3,500.! 4. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 1, where m is from about 3 to about 4000.! 5. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 1, having a weight average molecular weight of from about 2000 to about 1,000,000.! 6. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 1, wherein R1 contains a UV absorbing residue having the formula! ! where each R14 is independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, C1-C20 alkyl, alkoxy, acyl, alkyloxy, alkylamino and a halogen atom; each of R15 and R22 is independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, C1-C20 alkyl, alkoxy, acyl, alkyloxy, and alkylamino, wherein at least one of R15 and R22 is not a hydrogen atom; and R21 is selected from C1-C20 alkyl, alkoxy, acyl, alkyloxy and alkylamino. ! 7. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 6, where R14 represents a halogen atom. ! 8. The UV absorbing polymer according to claim 6, where the UV absorbing triazole is a compound of the forms
