abstract 1. An anhydrous composition containing a vasodilator and an acceptable carrier, said vasodilator being present in an amount effective to increase blood flow in human tissue when the composition is applied to said human tissue. ! 2. The composition according to claim 1, in which the specified vasodilator is able to penetrate into the deeper layers of the specified tissue and does not cause a rush of blood to the specified tissue. ! 3. The composition according to claim 1, wherein said vasodilator is present in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 0.5% by weight. ! 4. The composition according to claim 1, not containing a derivative of niacin. ! 5. The composition according to claim 1, in which the specified carrier is a polyhydric alcohol. ! 6. The composition of claim 5, wherein said polyhydric alcohol is selected from polyethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol ethers, propylene glycol, hexalenglycol, butylene glycol, and mixtures thereof. ! 7. The composition according to claim 1, for which the specified human tissue is the genital area of a man or woman. ! 8. The composition of claim 6, wherein said polyhydric alcohol is a mixture of polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol. ! 9. The composition of claim 8, in which the weight ratio of the specified polyethylene glycol and the specified propylene glycol is approximately 3: 1. ! 10. The composition according to claim 1, additionally containing an antioxidant in an amount effective to prevent the destruction of these polyhydric alcohols. ! 11. The composition of claim 10, wherein said antioxidant is selected from the group consisting of tocopherol, ascorbic acid and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), wherein said polyhydric alcohol is selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol,
