titleOfInvention COMPOSITION FOR CARE OF THE ORAL CAVITY AND METHOD OF CARE OF THE ORAL CAVITY
abstract 1. Composition for the care of the oral cavity, which has antimicrobial, anti-plaque, anti-calculus, anti-carious effect and the effect of eliminating bad breath, containing, in an orally acceptable carrier:! (a) about 0.01 to about 10 weight percent of a substantially water insoluble zinc compound, and! (b) from about 0.01 to about 10% by weight of a polyphosphorylated inositol compound selected from phytic acid, myo-inositol pentakis (dihydrogen phosphate); myo-inositol tetrakis (dihydrogen phosphate), myo-inositol tetrakis (dihydrogen phosphate), their alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salts and mixtures thereof. ! 2. An oral composition according to claim 1, wherein the substantially water-insoluble zinc compound is selected from zinc carbonate, zinc oxide, zinc silicate, zinc phosphate, zinc pyrophosphate, smithsonite, hydrozincite, aurichalcite and rosasite, and mixtures thereof. ! 3. An oral composition according to claim 1, wherein the polyphosphorylated inositol compound is selected from phytic acid and its alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salts. ! 4. An oral composition according to claim 1, further comprising one or more orally acceptable carrier materials selected from a fluoride ion source, anticalculus agents, antimicrobial agents, tooth whitening agents, desensitizing agents, abrasives, chelating agents, thickeners, buffering agents, alkali metal bicarbonate salts, surfactants, coloring agents, flavoring systems, sweeteners, stain removers, and mixtures thereof. ! 5. Composition for caring for the oral cavity according to claim 1, further comprising using
