titleOfInvention | COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR INCREASING LEASY MUSCLE WEIGHT AND / OR REDUCING FAT GROWTH |
abstract | 1. A method of increasing lean muscle mass and / or reducing fat growth in a growing animal, comprising feeding the animals a composition that has a total lysine to metabolizable energy ratio of from about 2.5 to about 6 g / Mcal and contains:! a. arginine with a ratio of total arginine to total lysine from about 1.1 to about 1.6; ! b. isoleucine with a ratio of total isoleucine to total lysine from about 0.8 to about 1.3; ! from. leucine with a ratio of total leucine to total lysine from about 1.8 to about 3.0; ! d. valine with a ratio of total valine to total lysine from about 0.8 to about 1.4; and! e. methionine and cystine with total methionine plus cystine to total lysine from about 0.8 to about 1.7. ! 2. The method according to claim 1, in which the composition further comprises tryptophan with a ratio of total tryptophan to total lysine from about 0.1 to about 0.5. ! 3. The method according to claim 1, in which the composition further comprises threonine with a ratio of total threonine to total lysine from about 0.65 to about 1.3. ! 4. The method according to claim 1, in which the composition further comprises histidine with a ratio of total histidine to total lysine from about 0.3 to about 0.8. ! 5. The method according to claim 1, in which the composition further comprises phenylalanine and tyrosine with a ratio of total phenylalanine plus tyrosine to total lysine from about 1.3 to about 2.3. ! 6. The method according to claim 1, in which the composition further comprises:! a. tryptophan with a ratio of total tryptophan to total lysine from about 0.1 to about 0.5; ! b. threonine with a ratio of total threonine to total lysine from about 0.65 to about 1.3; ! from. histidine with a ratio of total histidine to total lysine from about 0.3 to about 0.8; and! d. phenylalanine and tyrosine in a ratio of about |
