titleOfInvention GENETICALLY MODIFIED MICRO-ORGANISMS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MACROLIDE COMPOUND USING SUCH MICRO-ORGANISMS
abstract 1. Recombinant microorganism, which is a microorganism capable of producing macrolide compounds with a hydroxyl group in the 16-position, represented by formula (I):! ! (where R represents a hydrogen atom or hydroxyl group), and which includes:! (a) DNA encoding a full-length or partial polypeptide involved in the biosynthesis of macrolide compounds represented by formula (II):! ! (where R represents a hydrogen atom or hydroxyl group), and! (b) DNA encoding a full-length or partial polypeptide having enzymatic activity directed to the hydroxylation of macrolide compounds in the 16-position represented by the above formula (II). ! 2. The recombinant microorganism of claim 1, wherein the DNA described in (a) above is DNA encoding a full-length or partial polypeptide having polyketide synthetase activity; a polypeptide having acetylase activity at the 7-position; a polypeptide having epoxidase activity at the 18, 19 position; and a polypeptide having transcription regulating factor activity. ! 3. The recombinant microorganism of claim 1, wherein the DNA described in (a) above is DNA comprising:! (a-1) a contiguous nucleotide sequence consisting of nucleotides 8340-27935 in sequence NO: 1; ! (a-2) a contiguous nucleotide sequence consisting of nucleotides 28021-49098 in sequence NO: 1; ! (a-3) a contiguous nucleotide sequence consisting of nucleotides 49134-60269 in sequence NO: 1; ! (a-4) a contiguous nucleotide sequence consisting of nucleotides 60269-65692 after
