titleOfInvention TEST FOR 1,5-ANHYDROGLUCITOL (1,5-AG) AND THE COMBINED TEST FOR A1C / 1,5-AG FOR MEASURING BLOOD Glucose Oscillations IN GENERAL AND POST-PANDRIAL HYPERGLYCEMIA IN PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM
abstract 1. A method for assessing fluctuations in blood glucose levels in a subject, characterized in that said method comprises the step of measuring the value of 1,5-anhydroglucitol in the subject's blood. ! 2. The method of claim 1, wherein said fluctuations in blood glucose in the subject represent postprandial hyperglycemia in a diabetic patient. ! 3. The method according to claim 2, further comprising the step of assessing the average maximum level of postprandial blood glucose in a patient suffering from diabetes, said step of assessing comprising the following steps: using the value of 1,5-anhydroglucitol; and using a calculation formula or table. ! 4. The method according to claim 2, further comprising the step of measuring the value of one additional glycemic control indicator. ! 5. The method according to claim 4, further comprising the step of calculating the ratio of the value of the additional glycemic control indicator to the value of 1,5-anhydroglucitol. ! 6. The method of claim 4, wherein said additional glycemic control indicator is at least one of A1C, fructosamine, and fasting plasma glucose. ! 7. The method of claim 5, wherein said additional glycemic control indicator is A1C. ! 8. A method for assessing fluctuations in blood glucose levels in a subject, characterized in that said method includes the following stages: making more than one measurement of the value of 1,5-anhydroglucitol ("1,5-AG") in the blood of a subject for a certain period of time; calculation of the change or percentage change in the value of 1,5-AG in the patient. ! 9. The method according to claim 8,
