titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE FLUIDITY OF A MIXTURE CONCERNING WAX AND OTHER HYDROCARBONS |
abstract | 1. A process for improving the flowability of a mixture containing wax and other hydrocarbons, which comprises adding an amount of dendritic highly branched polyester amide to the mixture. The method according to claim 1, wherein a highly branched polyester amide is used, which is obtained on the basis of (self-)condensation reactions between a cyclic anhydride and an alkanolamine. The method according to claim 2, wherein the alkanolamine is a di- or trialkanolamine, preferably diisopropanolamine. The method of claim 2 wherein the cyclic anhydride is selected from the group consisting of succinic anhydride, glutaric anhydride, tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, hexahydrophthalic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride, naphthalenedicarboxylic anhydride optionally substituted with one or more alkyl or alkenyl substituents.5. The method of claim 4 wherein the cyclic anhydride is aliphatic. The method of claim 5 wherein the cyclic anhydride is succinic anhydride optionally substituted with one or more alkyl or alkenyl substituents. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the polyesteramide is functionalized by reaction with C-Cy carboxylic acids or C-C alcohols in order to obtain a C-C alkyl terminated dendritic compound. The method of claim 7 wherein the C-C carboxylic acid comprises behenic acid. A process according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein a highly branched polyesteramide having a number average molecular weight of 500 to 50,000, preferably 1000 to 9500, is used. Method according to any |
