Antacid pharmaceutical composition for the rapid and long-term neutralization of gastric acidity with a protective effect on the gastric mucosa in the form of a powder for preparation by mixing with water a pharmaceutical solution or suspension for oral administration, characterized in that it contains sodium alginate, an antacid soluble agent or a combination antacids, proton pump inhibitor, diluent and sweeteners, where a) up to 30% sodium alginate present in the composition together with the total amount and a proton pump inhibitor homogeneously distributed over the surface of the entire soluble antacid agent or combination of antacids of the composition; and b) the remaining amount of sodium alginate present in the composition has a moisture content of less than 2% .2. The composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the dispersion time in water is preferably less than 2 minutes. The composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the residual moisture content of the pharmaceutical composition is less than 2%, preferably less than 0.7%. A composition according to claim 1 or 3, characterized in that the sodium alginate selected for this composition has a moisture content of less than 2% after drying. A composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the proton pump inhibitor homogeneously distributed with a portion of sodium alginate on the surface of a soluble antacid agent or combination of antacids remains stable at a pH of the stomach for at least 30 minutes. The composition according to claim 1, characterized in that the content of sodium alginate is from 100 to 500 mg, preferably 250 mg per dosage unit.
