abstract The invention relates to genetic engineering and relates to the production of cDNA encoding fish growth hormone, the production of recombinant plasmid DNAs encoding this hormone, as well as to a method for producing a polypeptide fish growth hormone using a microorganism. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION; informational RNA is extracted from the pituitary gland of salmon, after which DNA complementary to mRNA (cDNA) is synthesized. A DNA sample corresponding to the amino acid sequence is obtained. NIKON salmon growth hormone, then clone the salmon growth hormone gene by selecting cDNA that hybridizes with the DNA sample and determine the DNA base sequence. The expression and accumulation of salmon growth hormone in the culture medium as a result of culturing a microorganism containing recombinant plasmid DNA into which cDNA encoding salmon growth hormone has been introduced is described. 4 s P. f-ly.
