titleOfInvention | A method for predicting the course of generalized myasthenia gravis after thimectomy |
abstract | The invention relates to medicine and can be used in surgery. The purpose of the invention is to increase the accuracy of prediction. The method is carried out as follows. A morphometric study of the removed thymus gland is carried out, measuring the area of the cortical zone of the lobules of iron and calculating the total volume of the gland and its cortical zone. If the volume of the cortical zone is below the age norm, an unfavorable outcome is predicted. Moreover, in the age group up to 40 years, an unfavorable course of the disease is predicted if the volume of the cortical zone is reduced by more than 1.4%, and at the age of 40 years and older with a decrease of more than 1.6%. The method allows to increase the forecast accuracy by 40-45%. |
