SUBSTANCE: treatment of supersaturated aqueous solutions of lithium tetraborate is carried out with a non-aqueous solvent, dimethylformamide, containing water at a volume ratio of dimethylformamide-water equal to (3-8): 1, and a solution of lithium tetraborate is acidified to pH 8.0-8.1.
