titleOfInvention Method for production of potassium salt of 2,2-dinitroethanol
abstract FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of trinitromethane by aqueous solution of formaldehyde and of copper sulfate pentahydrate. The process is carried out at 100-101 C within 9.5-10.0 h. It is followed by cooling reaction mass to 0-5 C and by adding aqueous solution of KOH, molar ratio of reagents is 1:11.7-12.7:0.02-0.28:2.0-2.5 respectively. Desired product is isolated by adding acetone and by washing with it. Desired product having essential formula C 2 H 3 N 2 O 5 K. is prepared by yield 76 its melting point being 130-132 C. EFFECT: simplifies the method, increases its safety.
