abstract | A preparation in the form of a powder for the elimination of the unpleasant odor of the feet and footwear is provided which provides a basic reaction of the medium and consists of non-irritating base salts such as carbonates, alkali and alkaline earth metal bicarbonates, preferably sodium carbonate, in an amount of from 5 to 35% by weight, non-irritating metal oxides, preferably zinc oxides, in an amount of from 5 to 20% by weight, and a non-irritating carrier, preferably talc, in an amount supplementing the composition up to 100% by weight, and, if necessary, odors in an amount of up to 0.6% by weight in relative to the total weight of the preparation. This preparation is applied in footwear and / or on the skin and toenails and shows its effect no later than 24 hours after the administration. The composition of the present invention is effective against Epidermophyton floccosum, Trichophyton rubrum, Candida albicans and Penicillium notatum. |
