titleOfInvention NEW N-CYCLOHEXYL-N-SUBSTITUTED-2-PHENYLACETAMIDES
abstract A process for the preparation of novel N-cyclohexyl-N-substituted-2-phenylacetamides of the general formula (I) in which R represents n-propyl, i-propyl, cyclopropyl, n-butyl, i-butyl, s-butyl, n-pentyl. a cyclopentyl, n-hexyl, n-heptyl, cycloheptyl, n-octyl, cyclooctyl, benzyl or (2-phenyl) ethyl group, is characterized by the present invention by reacting the phenylacetic acid chloride, PhCH2COCl, with the corresponding secondary amines of general formula (III ) in which R represents an alkyl group as indicated above in a mixture of aqueous and organic solvents or in a suitable organic solvent, in the presence of an acid acceptor, preferably an aqueous alkaline hydroxide solution, and at a temperature of 5-25øC.
