abstract The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of aniline, ortho-toluidine and para-toludine naphthalene, by condensing 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid with the amine component in nonpolar and polar organic solvents with triphenylphosphite in the presence of pyridine. The proposed process considerably reduces corrosion problems by eliminating the use of phosphorus trichloride.
